Overview

Solid Edge has Synchronous Technology integrating the advantages of history-based modeling and history-free modeling, and realizes “easy modification of 3D models” and “promotion of migration from 2D to 3D environment”.

1. Easy modification of 3D models

In the traditional feature based operation, you have to check the multiple features related to the shape to be changed and pay attention to the order of feature creation and the relationship between the features.

Solid Edge ST enables you to modify the portions of the 3D model with intuitive operation. Intuitive and easy operation is more effective on the stage of verification of changes in the model.

2. Promotion of migration from 2D to 3D environment

Change of the sketch concept

Solid Edge ST changes the conventional sketch concept. The 2D section that can be extracted from an arbitrary part of a 3D model is called “Live Section”. Solid Edge ST enables you to modify the shape of a 3D model by directly modifying its live section (2D).

Utilization of 2D CAD resources

Utilization of existing 2D CAD resources promotes migration from 2D to 3D environment. Solid Edge ST supports creation of a 3D model from an existing 2D drawing. The dimensions given on the 2D drawing can be used as driving dimension in the 3D model.
